What's In My Hospital Bag as a Second Time Mom
We're officially 6 days out from baby girls due date! Finally! It has felt like the longest pregnancy. For some perspective, I found out I was pregnant in January....yeah, that sounds like a long time ago doesn't it? I could not be happier or more excited that we get to meet our daughter so soon! So, tomorrow (October 1) is my last doctors appt. The plan is for my doctor to do a cervical sweep at my appointment to hopefully put my body into labor soon after. If not, I am scheduled for an induction on Thursday (October 3rd) and I'll have her on Friday (October 4th)! We will seeee. Anyways, here's what I'm packing in my hospital bag as a second time mom.
For baby:
White Onesie + this Beige Sun Onesie- extra outfits for the hospital + going home.
Copper Pearl Blanket + Copper Pearl Bow- For her announcement photos.
Bassinet Sheets- to use on her hospital bassinet for a cute photo op!
Bibs Pacis- We didn't introduce a pacifier until the second week with Jett, but I am going to bring these just in case!
Dr. Browns Mini Bottle- in case I decide to pump or we end up giving her formula because my milk isn't in yet.
Travel Bottle Cleaning Set- I've had this since Jett was a baby- we've used it a lot!
Boppy Nursing Pillow- I didn't bring it last time and we were always shuffling pillows around to get comfy while we held and fed Jett. This pillow will be clutch to have! I ordered this Checkered Boppy Cover for baby girl.
Nightlight Sound Machine- Hoping this helps us get better sleep while we're in the hospital!
For Me:
Frida Mom Underwear- these were my favorite after having Jett.
Frida Mom Iced Maxi Pads- essential in the first couple days! I remember asking my mom to bring me some in the hospital because I didn't like what the hospital supplied.
Bras- I've seen these all over Tiktok. I plan to wear them in the first few weeks for comfort and easy access.
Black Nightgown- What I'm planning on wearing after birth.
Water Cup- my water cup never left my side last time.
Aerie Black Shorts- These are the softest shorts!
Aerie Waffle Henley- Button down long sleeve top to wear the second day.
Black Pants- In case I'm cold.
Slippers + Shower Shoes- Two things I didn't bring last time and wish I did.
Toiletries- toothbrush, toothpaste, brush, silk scrunchie, dry shampoo, skincare.
Haaka Ladybug- Hoping that my milk comes in while I'm in the hospital and this helps!
Colostrom Kit- Bringing this to help catch my colostrom if baby is having a hard time latching.
Polaroid Camera- to capture our first few days with baby girl.
Eyemask- received this as a gift and absolutely love it. Super comfortable!
Mom Cozy M5 Pumps- just in case I decided to pump or need to speed up my milk production.
My own pillow, blanket, and bath towel.
I also prepped a basket for the nurses with help from my mom. We added individual bags of cashews, macarons, hydration packets, chapsticks, and some chocolates. Last time I gave birth I didn't bring anything for the nurses and I wish that I did. Especially after the labor and delivery process. I truly feel like labor and delivery nurses are angels sent from heaven. I had the sweetest nurses taking care of me who make me feel safe and strong throughout the whole process. It was truly amazing and I felt like I didn't get to thank them enough.
I am somehow more nervous this time around than last time. I think because now I know what happens, but also there are still so many unknowns. Who knows how its going to go! Just hoping for a healthy baby of course, but also a smooth labor and delivery, Wish me luck!
