Hollywood, FL Travel Guide
I like to think of Hollywood as a hidden gem. It's not super well known, but its getting there. I'd like to point out that I have a completely separate blog post for the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk post.
Anyways...
After living in Hollywood for almost 8 years now, I feel like I can give some good advice about this cute little town and all of its hot spots. So if you ever find yourself in this area or want to plan a trip to Hollywood you have check out these places! Also, side note: Hollywood Beach is such an ideal place to vacation in south Florida because its right in between Fort Lauderdale (25 mins away) and Miami (30-ish mins away) so you get the best of both worlds!
Best breakfast in town
Bake Shack: Best breakfast in town!! Insanely good sandwiches, donuts, coffee and pancakes!! My favorite is the Dough Boy, it's a breakfast sandwich on donut bread and it's out of this world good and guaranteed to cure a hangover. I get mine with sausage, egg and cheese. They also have the most delicious pancakes I have ever had in my life and I promise I'm not just exaggerating. Get them with chocolate chips. Bake Shack is located on US 1 in Dania Beach.
On the Water
Tiki Tiki: My favorite restaurant in town! Such a cute vibe and the food + drinks are so good. It on the intercoastal so you can watch the boats go by! My favorite things to order are the Brussel Sprouts and the Asian Sticky Wings! They also have great weekly specials.
GiGi's Waterfront: Owned by the same owners as Tiki Tiki. We love to go here for weekend brunches or happy hour M-F 3:30-6:30pm.
Quarterdeck Restaurant: The Dania Beach location is gorgeous (just north of Hollywood Beach) It's the best for lunch so you can actually see the gorgeous view. It's also the perfect to eat before flying out of FLL! See pics above.
Hyde Resort + Residences: that is located in Hallandale Beach right by the water tower on the beach. This place is SO CHIC. It's on the 9th floor pool deck and there is a restaurant Terraza's located inside. We used to sit at the pool bar for happy hour during the week (Monday-Friday 4-7) It gives Miami vibes and the views are so so good, it's one of those spots we always bring our guests. Definitely recommend the Cava, the sliders, and the croquetas!
ETARU: This is located right behind the Hyde building in Hallandale. It's a Japanese steakhouse and they have an amazing happy hour every day, 4-8pm. Their martinis and bar bites are delish and the lounge seating with ocean views really makes this place special.
5 O'clock Somewhere Bar & Grill: Located across the street from Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort. Its the perfect place to grab drinks + apps after the beach. You can also catch the Water Taxi to Fort Lauderdale every Thursday-Sunday 11AM, 1PM, 3PM, 5PM, and 7:30PM!
Juniper on the Water: This is JT and I's favorite date night spot, but we've also been for brunch-- SO GOOD. The food is quality and it's right on the water, so you get to watch the sunset and boats pass.
Taverna Opa: Besides the gorgeous views this place is SO FUN at night. They have belly dancers that start around 7pm. The food is excellent.
Downtown
Olivia: Located inside of the Circ Hotel. A little more upscale, but not too fancy. They have an awesome rooftop bar that overlooks Downtown Hollywood + the circle.
Tipsy Boar: I love this spot, my brother and I always take our parents here when they come to town. The food is amazing and it has a sports bar vibe with outdoor seating + a ton of beer options.
Old Hollywood Beerhouse: This is a hidden gem, literally, because I cant ever find it lol. They have over 200+ beers all for $3, but they're an all cash bar so make sure you hit the ATM before going.
Social Room: This is a great place to go out with friends. They have games and a cute seating area out back.
Food Trucks: Every Monday 5:30-9:30pm, Art's Park in downtown Hollywood has a bunch of different food trucks with tons food options. My fave is the Egg Roll truck, drool
Gulfstream Park
Gulfstream Park: Also located in Hallandale Beach, Gulfstream park has a lot to do and is so fun. Several cute shops, a few boutiques and other popular shops like Charming Charlie's, West Elm, Crate and Barrel, and over 20 restaurants/bars. If you're feeling lucky go bet on some horses or hit up the casino!
The Boardwalk
One of my favorite places to hangout in all of Hollywood is the boardwalk. There are so many fun bars and restaurants. You can roller blade or ride bikes, and you cannot beat the views. For the best places on the boardwalk click here!
